Halifax Midget Baseball Association

WHAT DOES THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDE IN TERMS OF EQUIPMENT AND UNIFORM AND WHAT AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR?

⚾️ The association does have an equipment swap that is located at the fields. We encourage everyone to bring any outgrown equipment that they no longer need/want and add to the bins at the fields. It is optional to donate to the equipment swap. If a family is in need of any of the items donated, please help yourself.

⚾️ The association will provide a game hat, jersey, sweatshirt (little league ONLY), belt and socks for each player.

⚾️ Parents/Guardians will need to provide black baseball pants, a helmet, cleats, glove, and an USA issued bat. CLICK HERE for additional bat information.

Tee Ball

This division is for 4 and 5 year olds

⚾️ Tee ball will utilize a tee to begin the season. Throughout the season look for a progression to incorporating coach pitching for part of the games.

⚾️ Everybody hits and plays the field. Participation is one of the main objectives in tee-ball, so expect everybody to bat and play the field every inning. Emphasis is on the basics - hand-eye coordination, how to hold the bat, running the bases (in the correct direction), what to do when the ball is coming to you.

⚾️ Don’t expect a final score. The outcome is less important in tee-ball than the process. There are no umpires in the game and like anything involving young children, chaos is never far away.

⚾️ The coach wants you to help. In tee-ball, coaches usually are the parents who volunteered because nobody else raised a hand. Many don’t have any baseball or softball experience. Get involved. Even if you don’t want to commit to every game or every practice your willingness to help when you are able to is very much appreciated. For the upcoming season tee baller players can expect to have 1 or 2 practices per week (once games start practices may be reduced, rescheduled or canceled based on field availability). One game per week.

⚾️ Player recognition day is tentatively scheduled for April 11th.

⚾️ For the upcoming season rookies can expect 2 practices per week (once games start practices may be reduced, rescheduled or canceled based on field availability) and 1 or 2 games per week typically on week nights.

⚾️ Rookies will possibly participate in a tournament during the season.

⚾️  Player recognition day is tentatively scheduled for April 11th.
